Pacoima, California, July 30, 2004 – American Airports Corporation, operator of five Los Angeles County Airports, recently announced the approval by the L.A. County Board of Supervisors this month of agreements for the construction of new facilities at Whiteman Airport in Pacoima, CA. Pacific West Aviation, LLC entered into a thirty-one-year agreement for the construction of 36,745 square feet of new commercial office and aircraft storage space. The facility is designed to accommodate operation of flight schools, aircraft service companies and general aviation storage. Located in the new eastside complex at Whiteman, the new development joins others approved in the last ten months, which include the construction of another 30,380 multi-unit aircraft storage facility by Sierra Pacific Aviation, LLC and a 16,425 square foot law enforcement office hangar complex by APIP 60, LLC.
Ted Gustin, Chief of the County’s Aviation Division, stated, “These new developments will resolve a longstanding logistical problem with access to customers and others caused by the midfield location of the current commercial operations. We are pleased that the users and operators will be afforded a safer, more attractive environment conducive to continued growth. ”
